Panel Chair: Steven Smith
Steve Smith, Industry Director - ICT will be chairing Liverpool International Software City. Steve leads the vibrant technology sector on Merseyside and is responsible for driving its progress and forging national and international links for its businesses. His unique approach to developing and inspiring North West ICT business leaders has involved conceiving and delivering dynamic international connection forums of which Software City is the most renowned.
With considerable experience in Europe and both the East and West Coast of the United States, his career spans over 30 years in the computer industry working with the earliest Personal Computers, culminating in his role as Group Technical Director, leading the complex technical services propositions of Elcom - a Boston based international reseller and E-Commerce pioneer which turned over $600 million at its peak in the late 90´s. During that period he assisted in the acquisition of five companies across the UK into the Elcom stable before the sale of its UK operations to the dominant European reseller, Specialist Computer Holdings (SCH) in 1998. Since then Steve has held senior roles with several major European technology companies and founded companies in both the UK and Eire.
